Caption/Abstract = LOS ANGELES, CA – AUGUST 29: Los Angeles County fire fighters Kevin Klar (R) Eric Tucker (C) and home owner Henrik Hairapetian, who stayed behind to protect his home, are illuminated by the glow of the Station Fire as it scorches a hillside on Bristow Drive in the La Canada Flintridge foothills on August 29, 2009 above Los Angeles, California. A broad swath of the northern Crescenta Valley was evacuated today, as the out of control Station Fire tripled in size to more than 20,000 acres and burned towards homes from Pasadena to the San Fernando Valley. The wildfire, which broke out Wednesday afternoon near a ranger station and the Angeles Crest Highway above La Canada Flintridge, has forced the evacuation of 4,000 homes. Good Morning~ I read this article on Digg this morning and it made me stop and thank God for what I have… The fires in California are devastating for a lot of people…

I remember living through it myself watching the news in horror for many of the years I lived there~

My Spirit Lady….

*And I proceed to do just as I was commanded… EZEKIEL 12-7

3030987930_03e197cdd6

I would like to start by saying mornings are my absolute favorite part of the day. This is when I am the most spiritual.
I would like to talk about what I call My Spirit Lady. Have you ever left your house and before getting in your car had that feeling~”I’m going to get a ticket today” Therefore knowing you’d better NOT speed, YOU got caught speeding anyway… Well that thought was a warning from our non-physical teachers… I call mine my Spirit Lady.

I have learned to trust my inner self over the years. I have even learned more in the last few months how important it is to believe in the power with-in myself.

We are Supreme Beings. God has given us everything we need on this earth to heal and nourish these incredible bodies.

He made them water proof and capable of healing themselves. Did you know we have 72 trillion body cells that reproduce every 3-4 months?

We always know the right answers, however, do we always make the right decisions?

I know that I am at a spiritual peak in my life today. I only hope that I may trust in my inner self a little more everyday. It is a process understanding ourselves and even more of a process trusting ourselves sometimes.

I just wish the world could come together one day. It would be a much better place.

I am happy to introduce my “Spirit Lady to you.. I pray we all find ours and we all can improve our lives today. In a spiritual and physical way.

Funny People Lays An Egg ( isn’t Funny)

Posted in Uncategorized on August 4, 2009 by Chondra Nobles

3 August 2009 12:23 PM, PDT

Several critics on Friday indicated that Funny People isn’t very funny. The same could be said for its box office results. Although it topped the box office, it earned only an estimated $23.4 million, making it the worst opening for a No. 1 film this year. Several reports suggested that it ended Judd Apatow’s reputation as the comedy producer with the golden touch. It also represented another hard hit to Universal Studios, which has failed to produce a hit film all summer and, with corporate sibling NBC, continues to tax the resources of parent Ge. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which had been expected to increase business with its release on IMAX screens, ended up with $17.7 million — at the low end of forecasts. Disney’s G-Force, which debuted in first place a week ago, dropped to third place with $17.1 million. Perhaps the greatest disappointment, however, was 20th Century Fox’s Aliens in the Attic, which opened with just $7.8 million, less than half what had been predicted for it. On the other hand, The Hangover earned another $5.1 million over the weekend to bring its total to $255.8 million, making it the third-highest-grossing movie this year. Overall, the box office was down a whopping 22 percent from the same weekend a year ago and bringing the total for the year below that of 2008. Attendance is down 4.4 percent after a striking rise at the beginning of the year.

Florida Film and Entertainment Industry Economic Impact Analysis

Posted in Uncategorized on August 3, 2009 by Chondra Nobles

Florida Film and Entertainment Industry Economic Impact Analysis

I have paid especially close attention to the numbers in the film industry for Florida and surrounding areas… I thought I would share a few known FACTS WITH YOU!

This study was conducted by: UWF Haas Center for Business Research
Contact person: Rick Harper, Ph.D., Director

In 2007, film and entertainment-related spending accounted for:
• $17.9 billion in GSP (Florida’s Gross State Product)
• $8.5 billion in personal income
• $498 million in tax revenue to Florida
• 207,800 jobs (direct and indirect)

GSP impact of the film and entertainment industry increased by 13% from 2003 – 2007.
For every $1 spent on a production within Florida, the state sees an additional 95 cents in impact.
In 2008, every dollar of film incentives provided by the state is associated with $22 in additional gross state product and $1.44 in additional tax revenue.
In 2007, an estimated 101,897 individuals were directly employed within this industry at an average annual wage of $57,700.
The Florida Film and Entertainment Industry is forecasted to grow faster than other targeted industry clusters within the state of Florida. With a projected employment growth rate of 20 percent, it is expected to grow faster than the Biomedical/Biotechnical cluster (19%) and the Defense and Security cluster (18%).
The study shows that over 68,000 jobs were created in 2007 directly in arts, entertainment and recreation services. Additionally, due to spending in the industry supply chain and industry payrolls, jobs were created in other parts of the Florida economy. These spinoff jobs included:
• 28,620 jobs in professional and technical services
• 26,520 jobs in information services
• 11,870 jobs in construction
• 10,810 jobs in retail trade

In 2002, Florida firms within the overall film and entertainment industry generated over $4.7 billion in revenue and paid over $1.2 billion in wages. By 2007, the major component industries of motion pictures, television, commercials and music videos, and digital media saw revenues exceeding $8.5 billion, or 5.2 percent of US industry wide revenues.
The Gross State Product (GSP) generated by the industry in 2007 represents 2.4 percent of the total state GSP.
